The Institute of Preemptology (IoP) is pioneering the world's first medical specialty dedicated to stopping disease before it begins. Our mission is to train 10,000 Preemptologists, deploy them across zones of one million people each, and help make Universal Health Coverage a practical reality. Join us.
The promise of Universal Health Coverage is failing — with devastating human and economic consequences.

Prevention is everyone's responsibility — but no one's primary profession. The world does not lack the knowledge to prevent disease. It lacks the physicians whose sole mandate is to do so.
— Institute of PreemptologyPreemptology is the world's first medical specialty dedicated exclusively to preempting disease across the life course. It transforms prevention from a secondary task into a protected clinical mandate — shifting medicine's centre of gravity from reaction to anticipation.
The Institute of Preemptology will train a new generation of specialist physicians — Preemptologists — equipped to lead population-scale screening, community coordination, and data-driven early intervention. Each Preemptologist will be accountable for a Preemptive Health Zone of approximately one million people, organising year-long community outreach to reach every person at least once annually.
Read the full case for Preemptology →A Preemptologist is a physician formed at the intersection of comprehensive preventive care, public health, primary care, and systems leadership — a doctor prepared not only to treat illness, but to organise its prevention at scale.
Where today's health systems fragment prevention across overburdened generalists and under-supported community workers, the Preemptologist unifies these functions in one accountable physician — the clinical leader of a Preemptive Health Zone.

A nested structure for accountable, population-scale prevention.
The Preemptive Health Zone (PHZ) is the basic operational unit of Preemptology: one million people under one Preemptologist, organised through a nested and cumulative system of physician leadership, community health workforce, and structured community participation.
Nested and cumulative — each successive layer includes and extends the one within it.
Preemptology is not a clinic-bound discipline. It is built for the field. Our Preemptologists will lead mobile outreach teams into urban neighbourhoods and rural communities — delivering screenings, building health literacy, and creating a culture of preemption where people live, work, and gather. This is how millions of preventable deaths each year become a figure of the past.

The Institute of Preemptology Complex will be a purpose-built campus in Enugu, Nigeria — home to three interconnected pillars: training, research, and direct patient care. From this base, the IoP will pilot, prove, and scale a model of preemptive health delivery designed to work anywhere — starting where the need is most acute.

The world's first medical school to embed Preemptology into undergraduate education — producing physician-leaders equipped from day one.
Targeting cancer — particularly cervical cancer which is ~100% preventable, yet kills ~1,000 women every day.
When we preempt disease at scale, we do not just save lives — we unleash human potential. Preemptology means fewer children orphaned, fewer families bankrupted by medical costs, stronger communities, and more resilient economies. It is the foundation for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and creating a future in which geography no longer determines who lives and who dies.
The Institute of Preemptology is an invitation to build something that does not yet exist in medicine: a dedicated profession of disease preemption. Your partnership will help train the first generation of Preemptologists, establish the IoP Complex in Enugu, and demonstrate that Universal Health Coverage is achievable — one zone of one million people at a time.
